Protec Marine has successfully launched our new interlocking flame retardant PVC tiles for protection of exterior decks and surfaces. This product came on the market as an alternative to 6mm fine fluted rubber matting and FR marine plywood sheets, and is offered exclusively to the worldwide marine markets by Protec Marine and their strategic partners.
Protec Marine interlocking Rhino TilesTM, have been on trial and tested extensively by some of the leading naval shipyards in the UK and also by leading international yards building the world’s largest cruise ships. In all cases the product was found to be superior to marine plywood and other rubber-matting products and has since been specified by yards and owners alike. Unlike rubber products, our Rhino TilesTM are also flame retardant and can be used on interior surfaces requiring a higher level of protection from impact and other damage.
To seal the deck, Protec Marine advises using the tiles in conjunction with our reinforced, waterproof FR PVC membrane. No tape is needed to secure the interlocking tiles, but we recommend that the membrane is taped on the overlapping joins of the PVC membrane to seal the deck (below the tiles) to stop ingress of water, dust, grime and any other particles.
