About the Customer Forum
The 8th LLW Customer Forum will be held at Rheged Discovery Centre, Penrith, providing updates and forward views on processes and developments at LLW Repository Ltd.
LLW Repository Ltd is a company responsible for the operation and management of the UK National Low Level Waste Repository site in West Cumbria. Now into their second contract award period, LLW Repository Ltd continues to lead in the implementation of the National Low Level Waste Strategy ensuring the effective
management of low level waste across the nation on behalf of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA). LLW Repository Ltd has driven an innovative, supply chain focused programme to optimise the management of ‘lower activity’ waste such that disposal and storage capacity at the national repository can be preserved and extended.
Attracted by an exciting programme of presentations and technical briefings, more than 300 invited customers and guests of LLW Repository Ltd will come from across the UK to learn about the latest developments in this sector of the nuclear industry. In particular attendees will gain an understanding of LLW Repository Ltd operations including topics such as:
- Waste Segregation and treatment,
- Characterisation Services,
- Transport and Logistics,
- Packaging supply and developments,
- Treatment and Disposal Services,
- and other highly topical issues relating to the national programme.
The Low Level Waste Forum is supported by Regulators, key stakeholders and senior NDA personnel in order that they can see for themselves the progress being made in this important area. Delegate attendance is by invitation only to those individuals who LLW Repository Ltd believe are directly involved with planning and delivering LLW management activities – this approach guarantees a high calibre of key staff from all of LLW Repository Ltd’s customers as well as those from the other parts of the nuclear, oil and gas; and medical sectors.
